4 on the 4th.

4 Aug

I thought it might be nice to give a little info about myself. So here are four fun facts about Taylor on the 4th of August!

  • I have a shih tzu/dachshund mix puppy. She turns one on August 11. Thank goodness! I’m ready for the puppy stage to end and for her to become a companion dog… as the shih tzus are bred to be. We will see. But she is really cute and maybe I’ll have to share a pic of her on her birthday. (I have a new computer with no pictures of her upload… bad mom.)

  • I am a huge book worm. My favorite genre is historical fiction, especially during WWII, but I like it all. I am also quite the fan of chick lit. Someday I would love to write a book, but I barely have enough time to keep this blog updated so a novel is just out of the question. I am currently indulging in the Hunger games series. If you aren’t reading it then you aren’t living. Buy the full set at Amazon now. You won’t regret it.
  • I’m an Oklahoma State University Alum. As football season is quickly approaching my excitement is growing and growing. We are supposed to have a pretty stellar… Yep, you heard me, stellar football team this year. I am a HUGE football fan and it will be a really fun season if the pokes can make some magic happen. I am also really looking forward to tailgating and having the chance to see all my friends who live in other cities now that we are graduated. (I have a cute proposal idea to share next week that has to do with this… and no it isn’t proposing at a game because I am not a fan of that.)
  • I love to dance. I started taking dance classes when I was three years old and my mom says I was the only one at recital who knew what she was doing. I continued to dance for most of my life in studio and then on the pom squad in high school and then in shows during college. (There was a 3 year period in elementary school where I played softball and basketball… I never scored one goal during that year I tried basketball.) Now my dancing is mostly limited to weddings and in the car, much to the dismay of my boyfriend. (He hates my car dancing.) Luckily, he loves to dance with me at weddings.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me. What books are you reading these days? I am always on the lookout for a great read!

The Bachelorette Gets Two Proposals.

2 Aug

I am a huge reality TV show fan. I watch everything from Next Food Network Star to Keeping Up with the Kardashians to American Idol. So it should come as no surprise that I watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette series. No matter how hard I try not to be a fan of the show it sucks me back in every single season. And just in case my current relationship doesn’t work out, my plan B is to apply for the Bachelor. Chances of me actually getting on are slim, but I like to pretend.

If you were watching this season and don’t know the results you should not go any farther into this post and head on over to ABC to watch the full episode online.

Ashley not only got proposed to by her now fiance, JP. But she also was asked by Ben. Now, poor Ashley has been ripped apart in the press for a lot during this season and I don’t want to do it to her, but she should not have let Ben get down on one knee and ask her. I think that was an error on her part. But who knows what she was told to do and it could have been in the heat of the moment. I just feel bad for the guy and wish he didn’t have to have a failed proposal on his resume.

Now I really did think she picked the person she loved. It didn’t come as a shock to me when she let Ben go. (And the guy is a doll so he should have no trouble snagging a few dates when he is ready.) It was just so obvious for the longest time that Ashley and JP had something special and more real. Her sister definitely almost ruined it though. Sorry for another spoiler if you have not watched.

Here is a lovely picture of the happy couple.

And I tried to find a video of the proposals but nothing is up yet… And it is getting late and I don’t have a million hours to look for things. (Sorry… I have to get up for work in the morning!) But I did find this video that made me chuckle out loud. This guy really does have a good find in the footage that was shown. I don’t necessarily think his claims that its all fake and set up are true. But I’m sure they make them recreate the moment so they can get all the shots from all the right angles. It would be hard to catch it all in one take.

Anyone else hoping to go on The Bachelor or Bachelorette? Would you rather be a contestant or the Bachelor/Bachelorette? And who is pumped for Bachelor Pad 2?

Another Royal Wedding.

1 Aug

As this blog was started after the Royal Wedding I never had the chance to blog about it here. It is possible I was one of the biggest American fans of the Royal Wedding… but I am a working girl so traveling overseas for the big day was not an option. I watched the whole thing from my bed in my pajamas. It was beautiful and everything I had dreamt it would be and more.

In all the hoopla of the Will and Kate’s “Royal Wedding” I didn’t even know another Royal Wedding was in the works. Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter married Mike Tindall on Saturday. She is known more for her amazing equestrian talents then her royalty. She doesn’t use a royal title, but is 13th in line for the throne. Mike is a rugby star. This was the first Royal Wedding held in Scotland since 1992. Zara’s dress is Stewart Parvin and her shoes were Jimmy Choo. She is also wearing a greek key tiara that was lent from her mother, Princess Anne.

And how did they get engaged you ask? Tindall proposed while they were watching a movie at home. Very low-key just like the wedding. Sounds like it was perfect for them.

Here is a full-length shot of her dress. She looks Gorgeous!

And a sweet pic of my girl, Kate, with my dream guy… Prince Harry. (I have a not so secret love for red heads.)

Here is another picture of all three of the young royals.

Anyone out there still having Royal Wedding withdrawals? I am. Sad but true. But this definitely helped fill in the void I have been feeling.

All my info came from here. View the pictures I showed in my post and more here.

Sweet Graffiti.

29 Jul

I’m not really into graffiti. Though I have seen some pretty cool stuff… including this video. That artist has some amazing skill. I could watch that for hours. It would be pretty awesome to have a work of art created for you that everyone else gets to enjoy.  As they say, “Love makes the world go round.” Congrats to Shannon on a proposal well done. Congrats to Jessica on finding a guy who makes amazing gestures to show he loves you.

S’more Please!

28 Jul

I just love this picture. I’m sure it is one of those artsy wedding day pictures where they served s’mores at the reception and took a picture of the bride’s ring with it… but what about a s’more proposal? I’d say yes… and then proceed to eat 10 s’mores. The wedding diet can start the next day. Great  for a camping proposal. But if you live in a city why not fire up the fireplace on a rainy or snowy night (or just a regular night… trying to set the mood) and make indoor s’mores curled up in blankets. I think that could be super romantic.

Would you be into a this or would you be too worried those melted marshmallows would get your ring all gunky?

Tech Savvy & Classic.

27 Jul

Frank proposes to his girlfriend, Kasey, in this proposal video I found while searching on YouTube. I love the mix of technology he uses to capture the moment combined with the a fabulous rendition of “Stand By Me.”  But couldn’t you just die when he throws the ring box at her? I mean what if it fell in the water? I’m hoping that was maybe for the show of the video and her actual ring was not in it? But why do something if it is fake? Is the whole video just a cute story? See this is how my mind works… lots of questions with a big dash of pessimism. I’ll work on it.

What song would you like playing in the background of your proposal?

Cup of Jo Finds Another Cute One.

26 Jul

If you don’t read Joanna Goddard’s blog “A Cup of Jo” then you are missing out. She blogs about all the coolest things and I get so many great ideas from her. She also happens to find some really great proposal stories. Check this one out!  It is pretty simple but super sweet. Seems like it fits that couple perfectly.

Would you like a spontaneous proposal like this?
